Hi, I'm Jake!
I am a West Michigan native, with a passion for woodworking and furniture design. I have BFA with a Furniture Design Major/Jewelry Minor from Kendall College of Art and Design (KCAD) in Grand Rapids, MI. I now live in Syracuse NY as a product designer for Copeland Furniture after spent 3.5 years working as a engineer and renderer for Stickley.
I started woodworking in high school, and quickly fell in love with it. I have spent countless hours in my shop, and when I'm not in there, it's not uncommon for me to be thinking about my next projects, or what tool I need to buy next. I also have a growing collection of hand tools, including a large selection of antique Stanley-Bailey hand planes, from as far back as 1877.
Outside of woodworking, I have a love for traveling through Rockies and Northern Appalachia to go hiking/climbing, along with taking film and digital landscape photography.
I also have a custom-built PC, where I play a wide range of games, as well as do quite a bit of 3D modeling and rendering.
